Hello, my name is Sonia Ortiz and I would like to start off by thanking you for considering Ohana Childcare, as your childs potential Provider. I teach a preschool based program. Children learn about colors, alphabet, numbers, shapes, animals and so much more...

As a parent I know how difficult it is too find reliable, quality, and a safe learning environment for my child. I can assure you that here at Ohana Childcare you will find all those qualitites and as a parent you will have a peace of mind that your child is in our best interest and care. As a childcare provider I believe all children have their own unique way of learning and it is my job to find out what that may be, children learn through dramatic play, imagination, exploration, and through socialization. Here at Ohana Childcare I provide all of those qualities while promoting strong Ohana (Family) values. Children do lots of arts and crafts, outdoor play, reading stories, and lots of playtime. I do not have the TV tuned on all day and sit there and just watch them. My assistants as well as myself love to play along with the kids. Besides giving them a safe enviornment to play and learn in, I am an involved provider who will be teaching, stimulating your childs intellectual growth, and encouraging them to reach their highest potential. Our home has been converted to facilitate a classroom set up, an infant area, a quiet reading room, a playroom that has a camera for extra monitoring (nap time), and a completely fenced in backyard for outside play. During your childs stay I will provide them with two well-balanced meals and one nutrious snack. My childcare participates in the state lunch program.

I am a mother of five children. We have 3 beautiful girls and 2 very sweet boys ranging from 3 years-11 years old. My husband and I have been married for 13 years now and have been together for 16 years. I am certified in Pediatric/Adult CPR, First Aid, and Health Prevention. I have taken all Early Child Development and Education classes and have cleared all Background Checks. Mrs assistants have all been cleared in the same background fields and have also taken some child development classes.

I decided to open my own in home child care because I want to be able to be with my children and my goal is too eventually open a Daycare Center. I have always worked with children. I have worked at Little Bears Angel Day Care Center in Vista CA, and at Orchard Dale Elementary School in Whittier as an Instructional Assistant. I have done volunteer work at churches being a teachers assitant for 2 year and teaching for another 2 year. I also volunteered at Childcare Network in North Carolina and Kindercare in Whittier CA.
